| History | The prayer group meetings were started in 1966 itself. In 1974 late Arch Bishop Mar Gregorios along with Arch Bishop Dr.Arulappa offered the first holy Qurbano for malankara community with 50 families. Fr. George Jacob took charge as the first vicar of Malankara community in Chennai. This became the first Malankara Catholic Church outside the jurisdiction. Sub stations started in Thiruvattiyoor in 1977 and Perambur in 1978. In 1979 new church was constructed. Fr. Koshy Varghese took over the responsibility in 1982. In 2005 separate Tamil Mass for Tamil speaking community was started. Lately, Fr. Justin was appointed as the associate vicar for the spiritual care of the Tamil speaking Malankarites. |
