| History | In the month of June 1987 Warje Malwadi unit came into existence with Fr. Ignatius Thangalathil OIC as our first vicar. With 8 families in beginning and Mr. D. Thomas took as the first Trustee of the Unit. Mr. K. M. George wholeheartedly gave his residence for conducting Holy Mass till we got our place of worship. The community development in Warje began in 1988 and the church was consecrated in 1998. On 25th Mar 1994 the day of Annunciation of Mother Mary the foundation stone was laid by Fr. Antony Valiyavilayil on the purchased land. Later the construction of the church took place under the strong and able leadership of Fr. Antony Valiyavilayil who put his every thing for the same. The tireless & selfless effort of our dear father in this Herculean ask can’t put into words but is always fresh in the memory of each one of us. It was a relishing moment to all the faithful when His Grace, Most Rev. Cyril Mar Baselios OIC, Metropolitan of alankara Catholic Church and His Excellency, Rt. Rev.’Valerian D’Souza, Bishop of Pune consecrated and dedicated the first Malankara church of Pune to St. Mary on 1stApr 1998. Rev. Fr.
