History | In 1987, under the leadership of Rev Fr. Peter John OIC Malankara Liturgical services were started at St. John the Baptist Church. Rev. Fr. John Berchmans OIC along-with parishioners, took the responsibility to organise the Malankara families and as a result a small prayer hall in Shanti Nagar, Wagle Estate was purchased and used for liturgical celebrations. Later, under the guidance and relentless efforts of Rev. Fr. Ignatius Thangalathil OIC ad Rev. Fr. Mathai Iranithara OIC, the church was constructed. The renovation of the church and reconstruction of the holistic art of Madbaha took place during the tenure of Rev. Fr. Ani Zacharia OIC. At present, the strength of the community is of 85 families with 320 members. |
